LP 6A - Licensed Psychologist - Amended - (121348) Position Classification: Licensed Psychologist 6A Union: PEA Work Options: Hybrid Location: (not specified) Salary Range: $100,090.56 - $127,397.44 annually Close Date: 1/28/2026 Job Type: Regular Full Time Ministry/Organization: BC Public Service -> Children & Family Development Ministry Branch / Division: YJFPS/YFPS Job Summary The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services team provides mental health services to young people involved in the justice system, collaborating with probation services, community agencies, contracted providers, and Youth Custody Services staff to deliver court‑ordered assessments and treatments. Responsibilities As a Licensed Psychologist, you will provide independent psychological assessments for young people in the justice system, both in the community and custody. You will: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on specialized counseling and therapy. Supervise junior psychologists and students. Collaborate on research projects. Play a crucial role in shaping assessment and treatment services. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC). Applicants with a Ph. D. and eligible for registration with the College of CHCPBC may be considered for appointment at a lower classification. NB: As a condition of continued employment, such an appointee is required to become registered as a Licensed Psychologist. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e., from another Canadian province). Three (3) years of experience and/or training in Clinical Adolescent Psychology. Post‑graduate training in Forensic Psychology. If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered. Additional Requirements Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
