Responsibilities Facilitates the entire process of preparing U.S. GAAP, IFRS and ASPE quarterly, semi‑annual and annual financial statements for multiple clients. Standardizes the reporting process while also working to improve and streamline it. Collaborates with the Fund Accounting department and supervises junior Financial Reporting staff in order to assure effective financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures. Drafts financial statements note disclosures based on legal documents and updates presentation of core financial statements and financial statements note disclosures to reflect requirements of newly adopted accounting pronouncements. Communicates with the clients and the auditors on an ongoing basis to assure effective planning and issue resolution. Provides on‑the‑job training and oversees performance of junior Financial Reporting staff. Qualifications Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting. Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) or Certified Public Accountant (U.S.) designation. 5+ years of experience working in a public accounting setting auditing financial statements for investment companies or 5+ years of experience working in a similar role in a fund administration setting overseeing preparation of financial statements for investment companies. US GAAP expertise, in particular with respect to ASC 946 Financial Services – Investment Companies. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Proven ability to lead an engagement by utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills and previous experience of being an “in‑charge.” Proven ability to work under intensive deadlines and handle competing priorities.
