Together with Medavie Blue Cross, we are part of Medavie, a health solutions partner committed to improving the wellbeing of Canadians.With a growing network of 5,400 health care professionals in six provinces, Medavie Health Services has a long history of operating ground and air ambulance services, medical communications, Mobile Integrated Health/Community Paramedicine programs, 911 Public Safety, 811 Telehealth, home health care, as well as clinical training.We are proud to invest in communities to help address some of Canada’s most pressing physical and mental health care challenges.As an employee of Medavie Health Services we are accountable to our patients and coworkers by participating in and supporting all safety related initiatives, as well as acting in a manner that fosters a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe and respectful workplace.We are currently looking to fill up to three **Emergency Medical Responders (EMR)** casual positions in Saskatoon, SK.**The position entails, but is not limited to the following:*** Maintain personal knowledge and skills, in accordance with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics EMR Clinical Practice Protocols, to deliver optimum patient care.* Safely operate MHS - West vehicles in accordance with MHS - West Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and all provincial and federal regulations.* Stocks and maintains vehicles in a state of readiness at all times.* Work in hazardous environments to ensure the safety and stabilization of the patient.* Work with outside agencies as a team in a coordinated effort on behalf of the patient.* Document all patient care, assessments, and skills, within the patient care report in a timely fashion.* Punctual and ready to respond at the start of their shift.* Act in a professional manner and handle conflict situations with good judgment.* Follow the MHS - West chain of command.* Create and maintain fully completed Electric Patient Care Reports. (ePCRs)* Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with all provincial and federal regulations. (HIPA)* Refer all media requests to the General Manager of MHS - West.* Report all incidents and complete written incident report forms to Superintendent or designate.* Work entails primarily working on weekends.**As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have:*** Must be a registered EMR with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.* **Must submit with resume** a copy (front and back) of a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 Driver's License. (or equivalent)* **Must submit with resume** current CPR certification.* **Must submit with resume** a current (within last 60 days) valid and clean criminal record check along with a vulnerable sector check.* **Must submit with resume** a current (within last 30 days) driver’s abstract.* Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills.* Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.* Must have a high regard for confidentiality.* Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism.We would like to thank all candidates for expressing interest.
