Job Description

The Student Estimator is responsible for providing support to the Estimating team for the accurate, timely preparation of full-cost estimates for projects, including materials and labour. This individual's accuracy is critical to the profitability of the business.

  1. Aid in preparing estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
  2. Assist in the establishment of unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts
  3. Help maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
  4. Assist in the preparation of presentations to management and clients
  5. Support the estimating team as required

Qualifications
  • Current Engineering Student - Civil/Construction discipline is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
