OverviewJoin to apply for the English Teacher role at Cosmo. Teach online at Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students with tutors from the top US and Canadian Universities and Colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor for Cosmo 1:1, you will have a flexible and consistent schedule that you set. We teach math, ELA, and SAT classes and have Cosmo provided learning plans for our tutors to use. This is the perfect opportunity for experienced educators to connect with students in an after school setting. You will meet with your students at a set time each week for 50 minute 1 on 1 lessons. As a Cosmo 1:1 tutor you will build a welcoming and fun learning environment for your student as you help them grow. It is important for our teachers to be reliable role models for our students who come to class well prepared, on time, and with a passionate and kind demeanor.Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your studentsUpdate your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely mannerPrepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and abilitySubmit Class Feedback after each lessonCommunicate with parents and students in a professional mannerAttend all classes on time and in a professional settingCommunicate with Cosmo staffBachelor’s Degree3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 in math, ELA, or SAT prepExperience with K-12 ELA/Math standardsTeaching license preferred but not requiredFast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo1:1Available between 3-10 PM EST on Monday through Friday or during the weekendsMinimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basisAccess to a private and quiet locationPassion for helping students learnCurrently located in the United States or CanadaApproachable: able to build rapport and make students feel comfortable in an online classroom environmentPatient: able to ensure understanding at the student’s paceAdaptive: able to tailor the lesson to each student’s needs and capabilitiesConsiderate: demonstrates emotional intelligence to support students’ confidenceEnthusiastic: passionate about education with a positive classroom energyReliable: punctual, prepared, and ready to support studentsSeniority levelEntry levelEmployment typePart-timeJob functionEducationIndustriesPrimary and Secondary EducationEducationE-Learning ProvidersReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Cosmo by 2xBritish Columbia High School English Tutor and other similar postings are shown for context. #J-18808-Ljbffr
