OverviewResearch Assistant, Northern Energy Innovation — YukonU Research Centre, Ayamdigut (Whitehorse) Campus. Full-Time Term position to March 31, 2026. Closing date: August 10, 2025.DutiesAssisting with the design of research activities or experiments, and/or development of new research techniques.Conducting research, simulation or laboratory experiments as outlined by assigned researcher.Leading, assisting, and collaborating with other researchers on projects within the applied research program.Writing plain-language summaries of research results as outlined by assigned researcher.QualificationsRelevant university or college education with 2 years research experience or an appropriate combination of education and research work experience.Knowledge and familiarity with research compliance issues and experience in academic research activities.Research experienceExperience in a computerized work environment and proficiency in web-based applications, e-mail, data based, word processing and visual presentation software.Experience in northern scientific research, ideally related to engineering (electrical) or power systems.Equity, diversity, inclusionYukon University is committed to the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
