Remote Sensing Teaching Assistant

Apply remote sensing and geomatics knowledge as an in-person Teaching Assistant for GEOG*3420*01 at the University of Guelph. QGIS and WhiteboxTools familiarity is preferred.

This GTA assignment supports Remote Sensing of the Environment in Geography during Winter 2027. The full 140-hour appointment runs from January 7 to May 7, 2027. Candidates should understand remote sensing, GIS, and geomatics software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold office hours for enrolled students
  • Prepare teaching materials and assignment activities
  • Consult with students about course-related questions
  • Conduct in-person labs and seminars
  • Grade student work and invigilate exams

Requirements:

  • Include a detailed qualifications cover letter and resume
  • Hold a BA or BSc in Geography or related discipline
  • Be enrolled in a Geography-related masters or doctoral program
  • Understand geomatics principles, concepts, and software
  • Meet University of Guelph eligibility and Ontario work requirements

Support GEOG*3420*01 students through teaching assistance, remote sensing knowledge, grading, and in-person academic engagement.
