Job Description Shift: Monday to Friday 0800 to 1700 Benefits to Joining Midland A dynamic, safe, and rewarding work environment Competitive hourly rate 3 weeks paid vacation A flexible health, drug, dental, and vision plan RRSP matching program Employee & Family Assistance Programs Health & Wellness reimbursements includes gym memberships, fitness classes or online workout programs Growth and progression opportunities within Midland Transport and large network of the JD Irving group of companies Responsibilities Setting up the dock for efficient operations Safely and efficiently loading and unloading freight, both manually and using equipment Communicating with other Dock Workers to ensure safe and organized loading and unloading Maintaining a clean, functional dock and work area Complete a dock check for exception freight daily to rectify any exception freight on the dock throughout the day Manage claims by processing OS&D entries, contacting shippers and consignees for disposition or missing item details, and updating records for dump, donate, and salvage actions Coordinate freight resolution by handling untagged freight, searching for consignee or shipper information, and ensuring accurate documentation for bills with no goods Communicate effectively with stakeholders via email or online portals to provide updates and resolve any OS&D issues promptly Qualifications Education Required: Minimum High School Diploma A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required Proven forklift operation experience in a warehouse setting OS&D and freight movement experience preferred AS400 experience an asset but not required Strong commitment to working safely in a fast-paced environment Ability to collaborate positively with others to achieve common goals Proficient in reading and writing to complete required paperwork accurately Efficient, reliable, and dedicated to maintaining high productivity Basic math and organizational skills are required Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Applications About Us Founded in 1882, J.D.
