We are looking for a Claims Lawyer to join our team in our Montreal office.ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance and assistance to clients with all aspects of the claims management process from initial reporting through to final resolution, ensuring prompt and fulsome communication with clients.Collaborate with clients and client service teams to advocate for clients in support of their insurance claims.Provide internal legal advice to claims and client service teams regarding coverage, policy wordings and other legal issues that arise.Monitor and communicate relevant legal developments to claims teams and client service teams.Manage various lines of insurance claims with a focus on E&O liability, Directors’ & Officers’ liability, Employment Practices liability and commercial general liability.Collaborate with claims team members, client service teams, and/or clients to develop value-added, client-specific claims services.Develop internal and external educational materials to augment claims service.Collaborate with client service teams’ marketing efforts to support client retention and acquisition.Develop claims presentations and documentation that support promotion of “best in class” claims service.Represent the organization at client and industry events.Our Ideal Candidate2-4 years’ legal experience including insurance (insurance coverage and/or commercial law experience is an asset).Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach.Ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities including legal research, internal and external presentations, claims management and industry knowledge.Ability to balance collaboration and teamwork with independent demands.Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English, as the candidate will interact in English with stakeholders outside Québec.Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Client-centric and service-oriented ethic.Excellent technical knowledge, attention to detail and precision.Effective time management and organizational skills.Who We AreFounded in 1987 by Barry F.
