OverviewCrushing Maintenance Manager - Greater SudburyWilliam Day Construction Limited is seeking a highly skilled Crushing Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance activities related to our crushing and screening operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring optimal uptime, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting production targets, and leading a team of maintenance technicians. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of aggregate processing equipment, superior troubleshooting skills, and proven experience managing maintenance programs in a mining or aggregate environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCrushing & Screening Maintenance Management: Oversee maintenance of all crushing and screening equipment, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, screen decks, conveyors, feeders, and related components. Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are executed and documented.Troubleshooting & Repairs: Lead diagnostic assessments on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues impacting plant performance. Coordinate and execute repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.Operational Coordination: Work closely with Crushing Operations Managers and plant supervisors to align maintenance activities with production demands. Ensure maintenance activities support throughput targets and plant reliability.Scheduling & Workforce Management: Coordinate maintenance teams and subcontractors, ensuring appropriate staffing, shift scheduling, and completion of work orders. Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to maintenance personnel.Safety & Compliance: Lead safety initiatives related to maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies, OHSA regulations, and client requirements. Conduct and support safety audits, inspections, JHAs, and hazard assessments.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, equipment performance, and preventive maintenance logs. Provide daily and weekly reporting on maintenance status, downtime, and repairs.Continuous Improvement: Identify improvement opportunities related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency. Recommend upgrades, process improvements, and long-term asset management strategies.Inventory & Parts Management: Oversee parts ordering, inventory control, and vendor relations to ensure availability of critical components for crushing and screening equipment.Client & Stakeholder Communication: Support client requirements by ensuring equipment meets operational and safety standards. Participate in meetings, audits, and production planning sessions as needed.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in crushing and screening maintenance, aggregate processing, or a similar industrial environment.Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining crushing and screening plants.Proven knowledge of troubleshooting crushers, screeners, conveyors, hydraulics, and power transmission systems.Supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance-focused role.Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and equipment manuals.Strong understanding of OHSA and workplace safety practices.Proficiency with maintenance reporting systems, logs, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract.Ability to work in various weather conditions and remote job sites.Mandatory ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.Criminal record check required.Availability for shift work, including days, nights, and weekends.Willingness to travel for out-of-town work when required.What We OfferCompetitive wage (commensurate with experience).Comprehensive benefits package including dental, vision, and extended health care.Company pension plan.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Opportunities for professional growth and technical development.Active Employee Social Club and discounted gym memberships.Supportive work environment focused on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.If you are a knowledgeable maintenance leader with strong expertise in crushing and screening systems, we encourage you to apply and contribute to the continued success of our operations.Pre-employment drug screening is required #J-18808-Ljbffr
