Underwriter I, Surety Intact is hiring a Senior Underwriter or Specialist to join our growing Contract Surety team. What You’ll Do Compare the company’s product offering to the competition. Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers. Help explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research, market analysis, and strong relationship building. Effectively manage complex new business, renewals, and handle referrals from team members. Leverage your underwriting expertise to offer guidance to colleagues and support distribution underwriters on complex risks. Be present in the market, participating in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events. Support product development, helping shape the future of our offering. Contribute to strategy development and lead by example to drive performance. Inspire innovation by bringing fresh thinking and creative solutions to help our team thrive. What You Bring Minimum of 7 years experience in Contract Surety. University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience. Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, investigate and analyze information. Highly organized, able to work towards our purpose while adapting to change in a fast‑paced environment. Proven ability to stay focused and adaptable through changing priorities and shifting market conditions. Comfortable engaging across all levels of the organization with confidence and respect. High level of integrity and accountability. Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
