Job Description:

Our client, a growing company in Toronto, is looking for a maintenance engineer to join their team. The RAMS (Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety) will be responsible for performing reliability, availability, maintainability & safety activities, technical analysis, and/or related system engineering work in accordance with the company standard. The maintenance engineer will report to the Manager of Maintenance and Engineering and partner with other sections to provide support across the project. This individual will work collaboratively with the site leadership and management team to ensure all areas of system engineering and processes are supported.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Address maintenance deliverables to ensure all commitments are met and all customer recommendations, concerns, and issues.
  2. Provide practical recommendations and capitalize results to ensure performance improvements for the project.
  3. Ensure various KPIs and targets are clearly set in accordance with maintenance performance.
  4. Manage and perform technical analysis.
  5. Work with business process and reliability improvement techniques.
  6. Understanding of customers’ products including technical specifications.
  7. Select the appropriate course of action regarding equipment failures.
  8. Identify potential areas of risk/opportunities, close gaps, and escalate as needed.
  9. Make recommendations, measure, identify, and drive improvements in all aspects of fleet performance.
  10. Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to fleet performance.
  11. Champion reliability and availability analysis within the assigned areas of responsibility in the business.
  12. Promote optimization measures within the project.
  13. Support cultural change management with the ability to address issues faced when introducing business improvement techniques.
  14. Ability to create, track, and present overall Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
  15. Support Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving using RCM methodologies or agreed appropriate tools.
  16. Ensure that all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, processes, and procedures are always adhered to.
  17. Advise Senior Management of any developing issues or potential issues that could arise.
  18. Produce timely and relevant periodic reports.
  19. Contribute to maintaining a harmonious relationship with maintenance employees.
  20. Manage and lead cross-functional process improvement projects and business-wide improvement initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:

University degree in an Engineering discipline relevant to job/equipment function. 3 to 5 years working as a reliability and maintenance engineer.
