We are seeking a Merchandise Processing Supervisor who will lead the back-of-house operations that power a successful store. This role oversees the full processing flow—from sorting and grading to tagging and floor readiness—while guiding a team of processors and recyclers to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards. The MPS supports hiring, training, and coaching, maintains an efficient and organized workspace, and collaborates closely with store leadership to keep merchandise moving. This leader helps drive operational excellence and a positive, mission-focused culture that supports Talize’s commitment to sustainable, affordable fashion. Availability requirements This role requires open availability, including weekends, holidays, morning, and closing shifts. Salary Range $45,760/annually What You’ll Be Doing - Every Day is Game Day Operational Duties Oversee daily merchandise processing, including sorting, grading, pricing, tagging, rolling, and ragging. Ensure smooth inventory flow to the sales floor by prioritizing categories and pacing processing activities. Support sale day preparation and execution, maintaining floor readiness and operational alignment. Leadership & Development Duties Supervise, train, and coach processing team members and recyclers to meet productivity and quality goals. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and ongoing performance development. Promote engagement and morale through recognition initiatives and team collaboration. Safety, Compliance & Communication Duties Enforce health and safety standards, monitor PPE usage, and address hazards promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, and cross-department teams to ensure alignment and results. What You Bring - Skills That Turn Heads 1+ year of supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment. Strong people management and delegation skills. Agility and adaptability in process execution. Additional Strengths That Make You Stand Out Conflict resolution and coaching skills. Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration. Experience in thrift or second-hand retail. 2+ years of experience working in a retail warehouse environment. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands continuously throughout the shift; lift up to 50 lbs; and push/pull wheeled containers up to 500 lbs. Exposure to dust, dirt, insects, garbage, and occasional rodents may occur during regular work activities. Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular interaction with customers and the public. In-Person Interview: Following the PI assessments, successful candidates will be invited for an in-person store visit. This will include an interview and meet-and-greet with the Store’s General Manager (GM) and Assistant General Manager (AGM), as well as an overview of store operations and structure. Final Interview: Interview with Market Manager and People & Culture Business partner. Offer process: If you are successful through the interview process, you will first receive a verbal offer, which is subject to a criminal record check and background checks. After these are completed, a written offer will be issued. We’ll keep the process transparent and efficient, with updates at every step.
