Overview Senior Underwriter, Small Business — Northbridge Financial Corporation Our Senior Underwriters provide complete solutions for Canadian small businesses. They work closely with broker partners to get a holistic picture of each risk and make underwriting decisions that make sense for all parties. They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and use strong technical skills to ensure that risks are assessed properly. Northbridge supports ongoing growth and development, and we foster a collaborative environment where experienced underwriters coach and mentor less experienced teammates. Responsibilities Underwrite commercial insurance for small business clients Collaborate with broker partners to gather comprehensive risk information Assess risks and determine appropriate underwriting decisions Coach and mentor less experienced underwriters as part of a collaborative team Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance Completed, or pursuing, CIP designation (asset) Strong customer service background Team-first mentality Small Business experience is a plus What We Offer Hybrid work arrangement (office and home 50/50) Competitive salaries with benefits including employee share purchase plan, pension, RRSP, staff insurance discounts Flexible health benefits, wellness programs, and recognition programs Support for education and career growth (CIP, FCIP, CRM or other courses), internal mobility, leadership training Donations matching and team volunteer days Who we are: We’re Northbridge Insurance.
