5-Axis CNC Machinist/Programmer

We are hiring a CNC 5-Axis Machinist/Programmer to join our growing team in Grimsby. This is a full-time, permanent role. The selected candidate must be experienced operating a 5-axis CNC mill. Culture of Kindness Management Team that Cares Competitive Wages Learning and Development Employee Assistant Program Employee Benefits Program including medical and dental coverage, & health spending account Safety Shoes, Prescription Safety Glasses Allowance, and Custom Hearing Protection Shift Schedule Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour Day Shift; Employee must be on-site by 8:00am 1/2-hour Unpaid lunch from 12:30pm-1:00pm Overtime paid after 40 hours Overview Report to Manufacturing Team Lead Responsible for set-up, programming, and operation of a CNC 5-axis Matsuura Mill Use of Fanuc Control Use of SolidWorks and hyperMILL to program Accurately interpret blueprints and other technical drawings Set parts and tools, and measure parts Perform first op-inspections and quality checks on machined parts General cleaning of workspace Use of other manual mills, lathes, saws, and other machinery as needed Ensure the use of proper PPE Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values Other related duties as required What You\'ll Bring 5+ years of experience programming and machining on CNC 5-axis Mill 5+ years of experience programming using SolidWorks and hyperMILL or similar CAD/CAM software required Experience using manual mills and lathes as needed Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time Experience using measuring equipment Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to changing and/or competing demands, delays, or other unexpected events Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-function team Team-oriented and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment Physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs Own toolbox and tools CSA Approved Safety Shoes Additional Information Minimum 40 hours per week DPSP Matching Program Annual Bonus(es) Flexible Start Time Flexible Vacation Time Birthday Paid Day Off Paid Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Lunchroom with provided food and drinks Biweekly Lunches Paid education and training Own vehicle or reliable transportation required; not transit accessible Work Conditions Temperature-controlled environment Manufacturing setting with exposure to loud noises and prolonged standing CSA-approved safety shoes and safety glasses required; safety glasses and hearing protection provided We thank all applicants for their interest; however, we will only contact those who best meet our needs and qualifications.
