We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in either our Vernon or Smithers Office. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance for the company. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with a strong background in accounting and a passion for the energy sector to contribute to our continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare invoicing to the clients
  • Looking into obtaining Grants
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.• Budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax filings, and audit processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in the mining/oil gas field an asset.
