Position Information Temporary Nurse Educator for the Birthing Unit at the Civic Campus, effective until approximately August 22, 2026. Rotation/Shifts Days, 8‑hour shifts. Note: The Hospital reserves the right to change shifts. Basic Requirements Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree in Nursing/Education or equivalent. Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO). Five (5) years of recent Birthing Unit experience. Recent experience in Operating Room and Critical Care Obstetrics. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Effective oral and written communication skills. Superior interpersonal skills. Ability to direct, supervise, teach, and advise nursing personnel regarding nursing standards. Use effective teaching strategies incorporating educational theories and practice standards. Ability to use multimedia technologies and just‑in‑time teaching techniques. Demonstrated leadership and group facilitation skills. Thorough working knowledge of current nursing theories, research, and practice standards. Awareness of current and future health‑care trends. Knowledge of legislation affecting patients and employees. Eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of teaching experience. Obstetrical simulation experience. Membership in a specialty‑related professional association. Certification in a clinical specialty. Proficiency in English and French – advanced oral expression and comprehension.
