Their involvement in landmark projects across British Columbia and beyond positions them as a key player in the industry.About the OpportunityThe company is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team for a seismic upgrade project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale infrastructure initiative, with direct involvement in the planning and execution of structural works.About the PositionThis is an On-site Structural Engineer.You will be responsible for supporting field operations through the design and implementation of temporary and permanent structural components. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to ensure engineering standards are upheld throughout the construction process.Responsibilities:Collaborate with field teams to develop concepts and designs for temporary structural solutionsPrepare detailed technical drawings and schematics in coordination with internal and external engineering teamsDesign temporary works, including concrete formwork, access systems, and lift plansReview and approve subcontractor shop drawings and welding proceduresPerform material take-offs and generate bills of materialsConduct quality checks to ensure structural work meets specificationsProvide support during fabrication of temporary and permanent steel structuresMaintain consistent progress reporting to clients, management, and project teamsEngage with clients, consultants, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycleEnsure compliance with quality assurance programs and regulatory standardsRequirements:Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related fieldRegistration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or working towards itMinimum 3–5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably on large infrastructure projectsExperience in hydroelectric projects is considered an assetFamiliarity with WorkSafe BC regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and related softwareAbility to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditionsBenefits & Perks:$90–$130K4 Week's VacationRelocation AllowanceCompany Vehicle + Gas CardLaptop/ iPad if requiredExtended Health benefitsRRSP MatchingDavid Aplin & Associates Inc., operating as Aplin, and its associated brands, CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment, is an award-winning employment agency connecting diverse, top-tier talent with exceptional organizations across North America.
