The primary responsibilities include sourcing and due‑diligence of new infrastructure investment opportunities; managing the investment process; day‑to‑day portfolio management of fund managers, separately managed accounts, and co‑investment relationships; monitoring existing funds and co‑investments; and producing comprehensive quarterly reporting. As a subject‑matter expert, the role provides support to the Investment Committee and inputs to the private markets strategy, covering real estate, infrastructure, private equity and natural resources. Key Responsibilities Manage existing fund managers and co‑investment relationships across the infrastructure portfolios, monitoring risk, performance, and asset valuations. Conduct regular due diligence, ensure compliance with legal documentation, participate in advisory committees, and attend required monthly, quarterly, and annual manager meetings. Maintain an inventory of infrastructure managers and monitor funds in or coming to market. Develop pacing plans and lead sourcing of new opportunities, including new managers, follow‑on commitments, and co‑investments. Lead the full due diligence process, present recommendations to the HPM and Investment Committee, secure CIO approval, and work with legal counsel to negotiate and structure investments. Direct Investment Evaluation For active decisions within separately managed accounts, evaluate investment opportunities through detailed due diligence, assessing risk, exposure, return, and yield. Present findings and recommendations to the HPM and Investment Committee, obtain CIO approval, and oversee external legal counsel during contract negotiations and deal structuring. Reporting & Analysis Produce comprehensive quarterly reporting for the infrastructure portfolio, including consolidated sector, geographic, risk, and manager exposures. Provide performance reporting for individual assets and the overall portfolio, maintain pacing plans, and prepare enhanced Trustee reporting – particularly for the co‑investment portfolio. Advisory & Expertise Serve as a subject‑matter expert on infrastructure and private markets, providing analysis, guidance, and support to the Investment Committee. Develop and update policies, procedures, investment strategies, and annual Trustee reports related to the infrastructure portfolio. Conduct research as required and collaborate with the HPM to refine and approve recommendations. What You Need to Be Successful Post‑secondary education in finance, business, economics, or a related field; CFA, CPA and/or a graduate degree preferred. A combination of relevant education and professional experience will be considered. Experience in pension funds or institutional investment management, specifically in private‑market investments including infrastructure, private equity, private debt, etc. Advanced analytical and financial evaluation skills to assess risk, valuation, performance drivers, and portfolio impacts across diversified portfolios. Proven ability to lead investment sourcing, develop pacing plans, conduct full due diligence, and present recommendations to senior leadership, the Investment Committee, and the CIO. Strong relationship management and communication skills to engage effectively with fund managers, advisors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders at senior levels. Strategic mindset and sound judgment to interpret market developments, refine investment strategies, and contribute to policy and procedure development. Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple mandates and reporting cycles with autonomy.
