This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patientsWe are seeking a SDET to join our Software Verification Team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of manufacturing jigs, developer tools, and the clinical workstation powering our life-saving medical device.Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.Meaningful work you will be a part ofYour responsibilities will be to:Design and execute verification and validation activities for software development tools, manufacturing jigs, and the Windows configuration for the clinical workstationDevelop test plans and assist with the automation of test cases that verify software requirementsIdentify, analyze, and report software defects and issues, and work with the development team to resolve themContribute to the design and improvement of the Windows software configuration (Windows Image), integrating customer and production feedbackParticipate in code reviews and help maintain the quality and reliability of test automation codeCollaborate with development teams to review and improve software requirementsHands‑on validation of production jigs and collaboration with development teams to drive improvementsDevelop scripts to improve processes for updating and deploying Windows configuration changesEnsure the clinical workstation complies with cybersecurity guidelines from regulatory authoritiesBecome familiar with medical device software standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and testing best practicesWhat you bring to the teamOur Kardium team is smart, creative, and passionate about developing cutting‑edge medical devices to help improve people’s lives. You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science2+ years of experience with software verification and validation testingExperience with writing specifications, test protocols, and test reportsKeen interest in software test automationExperience using test automation tools and frameworks is an assetProficiency in Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languagesFamiliarity with C# and Java is an assetFoundational understanding of electronics and circuitsKnowledge of hardware components in manufacturing jigsEnthusiasm for PC hardware and Windows configuration workKnowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals is an assetFamiliarity of CI/CD tools like TeamCity is an assetAwareness of medical device regulatory requirements and standards such as IEC 60601 is preferredAbility to work independently in a multi-disciplinary teamExcellent communication and documentation skillsPositive and proactive attitude with the ability to execute tasks with an appropriate level of independenceEnthusiastic about seeking innovative solutions to unforeseen challengesFlexibility and adaptability to take on additional responsibilities as appropriateCompensationKardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
