BADAS is an Agricultural Society established in 1990. We are provincially mandated to encourage improvement in agriculture and enhance the quality of life in their communities through educational programs, events, services, and facilities. Mission: Beaumont & District Agricultural Society (BADAS) provides diverse facilities, programs, services, and events that connect people to nature-based experiences derived from recreational, environmental and agricultural themes. Our Board of Directors Our Board of Directors is a volunteer-based Strategic Governance board, consisting of 12 Directors, who are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for a three-year term, with the option for re-election. All Board Members are involved in the strategic thinking and decision-making that informs our strategic plan. What We Can Offer You The opportunity to give back to your community and region. Experience working on a not-for-profit Strategic Governance Board. Opportunities to direct and contribute to the development of our 71 acre facility. Effective use and or development of your expertise and experience. Time Commitment Board meetings are held the first Monday of the month from 7:00-9:00 PM. Most meetings are virtual meetings with quarterly in person meetings. Additional duties include committee meetings monthly or every other month (committee dependent). Additional commitments include but are not limited to community events, workshops, forums, trainings, and/or professional development opportunities. A Director’s time commitment is approximately 10-15 hours per month. Who Should Apply? Supporting BADAS mission, vision and mandate. Bringing a community perspective to the Board table. Committing time for Board duties and related activities. Contribute their value by Helping make sense of a complex strategic environment. Contributing diverse, and objective thinking. Exercising good judgment. Anticipating issues, challenges and opportunities.
