Job Overview Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking highly skilled and experienced Tactical Trainers to join our Nuclear Security team. In this critical role you will design, deliver, and evaluate firearms and tactical training for Nuclear Security Officers and Legal Authorities, ensuring strict compliance with federal, provincial, and CNSC regulations. You will facilitate both classroom and range‑based instruction, maintain rigorous safety standards, and contribute to ongoing excellence of OPG’s security operations. Key Accountabilities Facilitate tactical and firearms training for Nuclear Security Officers and Legal Authorities in both classroom and range settings. Design, develop, and deliver training materials, course standards, lesson plans, and manuals. Assess, qualify, and provide feedback to participants, ensuring training meets all regulatory and organizational requirements. Supervise and ensure safety during all range exercises, with authority to remove personnel or weapons as necessary. Manage and document the use, maintenance, and inventory of firearms, ammunition, and related equipment. Maintain armorer skills, inspect and evaluate firearms and ammunition, and ensure all legal and regulatory obligations are met. Serve as a role model, maintaining professionalism and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of police, military, or equivalent tactical/firearms training experience, with instructional background. Certified Use of Force Trainer (or equivalent certification) and expertise in firearms and tactical instruction. Eligible for and able to maintain CNSC approval as a tactical trainer; valid Firearms Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) a requirement. Strong communication skills and a commitment to progressive, modern training methods.
