Join one of our multidisciplinary teams today, and let's create the future together Work location: Mississauga Within the Energy department, as a Structural Designer: Your responsibilities Develop comprehensive steel and concrete structure drawings for fabrication and installation using AutoCAD; Create detailed structural drawings, including erection plans, connections and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure alignment and accuracy with minimal supervision; Modify and revise designs to address deficiencies, incorporate instructions, comments, feedback and update connection details as needed; Conduct clash detection of structural models with models from other disciplines to identify and resolve conflicts; Review and update existing drawings and documentation to reflect modifications made to existing structures on-site, ensuring accuracy and compliance; Maintain organization and accuracy within the existing drawing database, ensuring records are up to date; Prepare contract drawings, manage record-keeping, and perform other statistical work as required; Verify on-site conditions, dimensions, and existing structural details to ensure they align with new design requirements and specifications; Ensure effective coordination and communication with designers, drafters, and engineers within the discipline and across other disciplines; Collaborate with project managers to align structural design work with the overall project goals and client objectives, ensuring timely and accurate delivery; Assist in reviewing and resolving steel fabrication and installation issues on-site, proposing modifications and adjustments to designs as necessary. Your profile College degree in civil engineering technology, structural engineering or equivalent; Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in structural drafting and design, specifically in the high voltage transmission and distribution field or a similar industry; An experience with public service companies such as Hydro-One, Local Distribution Companies (LDC), Hydro Ontario, Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Ministry of Environment (MOE) or with suppliers such as ABB, Alstom, GE, DeltaStar or other (asset); Proficiency in AutoCAD, and other relevant CAD software for drafting and modeling; Knowledge of Revit (Architect/Structure) (asset); Strong understanding of steel detailing, including connection details, fabrication drawings, and erection plans; Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings, connection details, and design modifications; Experience in reviewing and modifying existing structures on-site and accurately verifying field conditions and dimensions; Ability to identify and resolve issues related to steel fabrication and installation on-site, providing practical solutions and modifications as necessary; Teamwork adaptability, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other disciplines; Familiar with the majority of norms and standards for structural design; Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Projects; Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
