Raytheon ELCAN is a global leader in high‑precision optical systems. We are looking for a Production Specialist Senior to join our team in Midland, Ontario. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and will set up and operate CNC Turning Centers, ensuring efficient, safe, and high‑quality production. Shift work may be required. Responsibilities Set up and operate Multi‑spindle, Multi‑axis CNC Mill‑turn lathe machines with minimal supervision. Follow set‑up procedures to mount fixtures and pick up work coordinates. Have good knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds. Read blueprints, sketches, and interpret drawings and geometrical dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T). Operate CMM (coordinate measuring machines). Possess strong mathematical skills in geometry and trigonometry. Be fully competent in using metrology tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features. Requirements and Key Competencies Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Certification of Apprenticeship or Qualification in Tool and Die Maker and/or General Machinist. Two to Five years of experience working in a machine shop environment with CNC machines and tolerances. Effective interpersonal leadership and communication skills. An adaptable, innovative, and natural problem‑solver. Ability to identify, select, and prepare tooling for machines. Analytical decision‑making with strong attention to detail. Ability to efficiently set up machines for complex parts. Can work under minimum supervision in a team environment. Accountable, motivated, and resilient in the face of delays and setbacks. Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge through study, instruction, or experience. Good organizational skills to ensure completion of paperwork and reports. Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to multitask. Will comply with all Raytheon Environmental, Health, & Safety directives and company policies. Security Clearance This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, have resided in Canada for at least five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements. Job offers are conditional upon a successful security screening. Compensation and Benefits The starting rate is $28.85 per hour.
