We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Data & Analytics – Data Modeler with experience in Data Vault 2.0 methodology, coupled with proficiency in traditional data modeling techniques. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data models that support our organization's evolving data architecture needs. This position provides the opportunity to be involved in new or existing BI and DWH solutions and to work with many different business areas within the company. The candidate will participate in all phases of the DWH development life cycle as well as support the day-to-day operations as it pertains to data modeling improvements and supporting the existing platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, flexible, and extensible data models using Data Vault 2.0 methodology.
  • Utilize traditional data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, ER modeling) as needed to complement Data Vault 2.0 constructs.
  • Ensure that data models adhere to best practices, standards, and principles while aligning with business requirements and objectives.
  • Develop, enhance, and manage conceptual data model, enterprise logical data model (LDM), physical data model (PDM) for the data platform.
  • Ensure data lineage mapping across implementations for the platform.
  • Understand and meet referential data integrity requirements based on business needs. Develop and/or assist in generating source to target data mapping.
  • Perform data model consolidation and integration to integrate new silos of organizations source data to the data platform.
  • Data analysis/profiling and reverse engineering of data. Strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Data Architects, Product Managers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data modeling team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Champion data governance principles and practices to maintain data integrity, consistency, and quality within the data models.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and standards within the data modeling process to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data assets.
  • Identify opportunities for performance optimization within data models, including but not limited to indexing strategies, partitioning, and denormalization techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with Database Administrators and Performance Engineers to fine-tune data models for optimal query performance and scalability.
  • Document data models comprehensively, including entity-relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, metadata, and lineage information.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting complex data modeling concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years Experience in Data Vault 2.0 Modeling.
  • 5+ years of experience using the following modeling techniques: 3rd Normal form, ERD, Dimensional modelling (Star Schema/Snowflake Schema.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience with metadata management and its use for modeling activities.
  • Experience with creating data model and data structure in Erwin Modeling.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and practices is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience with data management standards and data model practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of conceptual and logical data modeling and familiarity with physical database design and optimization concepts.
  • Experience with common standards and best practices for data elements, data types, and file formats.
  • Ability to conceive and describe the big picture.
  • Solid analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly work with multiple key stakeholders, and ability to focus on cross-group collaboration.
  • Data analysis/profiling and reverse engineering of data. Strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Data Vault Data Modeler) are desirable.
