We are looking for a creative and passionate UX Designer to join our product team as we evolve the Kijiji product experience used by millions. Reporting to the Head of UX, you will be a key member of the product & design team. You will play an important and influential role in the design of Kijiji across both web and mobile app. You will create delightful user experiences, which includes conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, and component, feature and product designs. You will work on entirely new product features and improving the existing Kijiji user experience. This is a hybrid role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead design initiatives across the entire product lifecycle, setting the vision for user experience and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

  • Employ your comprehensive toolkit of design methodologies to uncover insights, inform design decisions, and articulate the user journey in compelling ways.

  • Collaborate with the product management and engineering teams to create seamless, intuitive, and delightful solutions.

  • Advocate for user-centric design practices, promoting a culture of feedback and continuous improvement.

  • Design wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimised for multiple devices and interfaces.

  • Identify product and design problems and devise elegant solutions.

  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new features.

Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of UX design experience.

  • An understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.

  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.

  • Share and communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.

  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking.

  • Work in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience in a marketplace or e-commerce platform is.

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and continuous delivery models.

  • Understanding of the Canadian marketplace and consumer behaviour.
