Job Summary Utilizing strong clinical assessment, leadership, and critical thinking skills, the Professional Practice Leader will work in collaboration with the Manager and interdisciplinary teams to support and advance the goals of the Mental Health and Addictions Program (MHAP) and the Assault Care and Treatment Program (ACT)/Rapid Access Addictions Medicine Clinic (RAAM). This role champions trauma-informed, culturally safe, and survivor-centered care for individuals impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence and substance use disorders in Sioux Lookout and surrounding northern communities. Operating primarily out of the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre, the ACT program includes outreach to remote First Nations communities and works with multiple partners to ensure compassionate and accessible care. The Professional Practice Leader plays a vital role in ACT/RAAM clinical oversight, mentorship, quality improvement, data reporting, and community collaboration. Qualifications/Experience Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification or willingness to obtain. Minimum four years’ experience in acute/long-term care; healthcare management experience preferred. Experience in providing care to survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence is an asset. Experience and knowledge in providing education about substance use disorders treatment options and harm reduction strategies. Strong leadership, mentorship, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. Clinical knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and psychological safety. Experience with Meditech and Microsoft Office required; experience using REDCap is an asset. Knowledge of and respect for First Nations culture and northern communities is an asset. Demonstrated ability to support clinical staff, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote culturally safe care. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties Follow the mandatory legal and ethical standards as set by SLMHC and their appropriate regulatory body. Support and contribute to the philosophy, mission, vision, values, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre and the ACT/RAAM program. Follow all policies and procedures of SLMHC and the ACT/RAAM program. Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to ACT Nurses and allied clinicians. Lead nurse team meetings and team huddles, addressing operational and clinical priorities. Support clinicians with case consultations, vicarious trauma, and best practices in survivor care. Collaborate with community partners including Emergency departments, law enforcement, and health agencies for coordinated care and outreach. Ensure accuracy and completeness of program documentation, REDCap data, and required Network data reporting. Guide development and maintenance of policies, medical directives, and clinical protocols. Monitor and ensure interdisciplinary team members meet all applicable clinical practice standards. Support day-to-day operation of the ACT/RAAM program, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. Promote awareness and education of SA/DV and harm reduction services internally and externally. Participate in Community of Practice meetings, internal committees, and regional program collaboration. Provide clinical coaching and education to frontline staff to promote consistent, high-quality care. Assist with chart audits, care quality monitoring, and evaluation of program services. Identify and communicate human and material resource needs to support program delivery. Support the MHAP Manager in performance feedback, staff coaching, and attendance support. Lead or participate in onboarding, orientation, professional development, and staff recognition. Ensure psychological safety, inclusion, and trauma-informed communication across all team interactions. Collaborate with northern community partners and Health Directors to extend care access and awareness. Maintain community representation through participation in relevant committees and networks. Actively participate in self-evaluation and personal/professional development planning. Perform other related duties as assigned. Salary Salary:Salary starts at $49.93.
