Our client, a global Tier 1 automotive supplier is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist to oversee and enhance customs compliance operations across North America. This role will ensure adherence to international trade regulations while driving efficiencies in documentation, duty management, and cross-border logistics. This role is a hybrid of remote and in‑person work and candidates must be based in SW Ontario. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage customs compliance programs in line with international and government regulations. Oversee trade documentation requirements, including USMCA, TIBs, and duty recovery processes. Maintain accuracy of customs data within ERP/MRP systems (HS Codes, Country of Origin, Incoterms.) Partner with internal departments and external agencies to ensure smooth cross‑border operations. Lead audits, implement corrective actions, and advise on best practices in compliance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field. 5+ years of customs compliance experience within automotive or manufacturing. Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, USMCA, HS Codes, and trade compliance practices. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Solid understanding of duty management, refunds/drawbacks, and financial compliance. Skilled communicator with proven ability to build strong cross‑functional and external relationships.
