Under the direction of the Manager or designate and in collaboration as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides care to complex but stable residents/clients. They perform assessments, plan and provide personal care, and perform nursing procedures. The Licensed Practical Nurse operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, and according to agency operating policies and standards and unit specific protocols. Qualifications Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant. MHSU positions also require completion of additional education as outlined by BCCNM for practice where Mental Health and/or Substance Use disorders are the primary diagnosis. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents, families, co‑workers, members of the multidisciplinary team and the public. Deal with others effectively. Organise work and implement a plan of care. Demonstrate knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, including administering medications.
