Senior Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation WSP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, engineering, and client delivery for power generation facilities across Canada. As a key member of the Energy division, you will collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams on projects ranging from biomass and hydrogen plants to fossil fuel and carbon capture systems. Responsibilities Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities. Evaluate design techniques, industry codes, and standards; perform high‑complexity engineering designs. Develop P&IDs and sizing calculations for major power plant systems. Prepare construction and installation scopes of work for mechanical systems. Coordinate with drafters, designers, and engineers; provide technical mentoring and oversight. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years of mechanical engineering design experience within EPCM environments; focus on industrial facilities preferred. Current licensed professional engineer (P.Eng, Ing, PE) in the province of practice. Experience with power plant, renewable natural gas plant design desired. Proven senior mechanical expertise; ability to lead and mentor clients. Working knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, Smart Plant 3D, CADworx, Caesar II, AutoPipe, Thermoflow. Location Canadian office preference: Calgary, AB; Moncton, NB; Kitchener, ON; other Canadian offices available. Salary BC range: $136,200 – $187,200.
