Support student success as a permanent full-time Educational Assistant with Simcoe County District School Board, using communication and behavior management skills.
This 1.0 FTE position provides support across academic, behavior, social, life skills, and co-op situations. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a safe, supportive environment for students. Assignments may include kindergarten through intermediate grades, regular classrooms, and the learning centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and life skills development
- Assist students in co-op situations and classroom learning
- Provide toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting, and mobility assistance
- Rotate through school groupings and grade levels as required
- Contribute to student integration within a multidisciplinary team
Requirements:
- Relevant university degree or two-year human services college diploma
- Behaviour Management Systems training is required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
- Vulnerable Sector Check and mandatory training before employment
