Dietary Aide – Part Time (PT) – Extendicare Crossing Bridge Join us at Extendicare as a Dietary Aide in our Ottawa, Ontario facility. In this role you will assist with plating and serving meals, clean serving areas and equipment, and support our culinary team following established policies and standards. What you will be doing Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences, observing meal serving times and maintaining proper serving temperatures. Assist cooks in preparing uncooked food such as salads, vegetables, and fruits, and help with simple breakfast items, desserts, and garnishes. Clear plates and trays, load and operate the dishwasher, and clean pots, pans and utensils as per procedure. Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures related to quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control. Assemble nourishment carts and stock unit kitchenettes. Participate in facility meetings and attend in‑service education programs. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor. Qualification / What you bring Current Food Handler’s Certificate. Previous dietary experience preferred (0‑1 year) in a long‑term care home. Ability to stand for extended periods. Proficient in reading and writing basic English and following verbal and written instructions. Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
