Workday Integration lead

This role leads the technical design and development of cross‑functional, multi‑platform application systems. It applies extensive, in‑depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments. As a Workday Technical Specialist, you will work with technical, functional/business, and vendor teams across RBC for the execution of the HCM Program (Plan, Architect, Build, Test and Deploy). Responsibilities Coordinate with HR teams, senior stakeholders, business management, QA, developers, and third‑party vendors on a frequent basis for completion of the deliverables within the HCM program and Workday Sustainment. Assess and analyze integration requirements, current state environment and technology platforms to define and propose solutions that meet functional integration needs across the Workday eco‑system, including a future HCM solution and multiple third‑party internal/external systems. As an Integration Developer focus on building integration solutions ensuring successful deployment using various integration product technologies/tools and services. Build strong, sustainable relationships with the business and functional team by joining them in workshops to elicit their needs and understand their wants, meeting the business requirements. Identify technical issues and risks and define mitigation approaches, working closely with delivery and operations teams. Work with impacted/dependent groups to coordinate integration across systems. Collaborate with all team members to ensure specialty skills and capabilities are effectively used to implement solutions and that integration knowledge is shared across the team. Participate in detailed design sessions for identifying, tracking and resolving issues related to integration design/build. Understand integration interdependency and mitigate issues arising due to those dependencies. Stay up to date with emerging trends and new functionalities in areas related to the Workday integration and other domains. Get actively involved in Global Design Workshops to proactively raise concerns or provide input whenever needed. Help manage the integration deliverables associated with the HCM project & Workday Implementation. Work with the internal IT teams to gather enterprise level requirements for integrations (e.g., integration delivery and retrieval mechanism, Public & Private Key Management). Work closely with the QA team to help them understand the integration design, architecture and functionalities while managing the testing use cases. Track blockers and issues, working with the PMO and other team members to mitigate them. Act as a Workday champion in delivering change and rolling out new features to local teams. Provide feedback on project implementation plans and support requirements. Collaborate with the payroll team for issue resolution, testing, deployment and ongoing payroll support. Manage vendor relationships and involve appropriate parties. Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, take initiative and ownership with focus on delivering the best solution for all stakeholders. Make quick decisions, knowing when to push back, when to raise escalations, and balance requirements. Drive the CR process specific to integration. Understand the functional impact of change requests on integrations. Provide forward‑thinking technical leadership for integration design and development, understanding the current and future table‑of‑contents. Identify and solve issues leveraging platforms such as Workday Community. Work closely with HRCT Architects and Lead Architect to ensure alignment with business and technology strategy with an integration focus. Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and interfacing groups using a variety of techniques for collaboration from initiation to close. Facilitate meetings for technical design/architecture, decision making, problem solving and task implementation. Prepare and deliver presentations to business and technology partners and senior management, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience. Resolve technical conflicts/issues and escalates to others as appropriate. Act as team leader, facilitate knowledge transfer sessions, provide daily direction, expertise, coaching and development to junior staff. Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems. Qualifications Workday Implementation & Support Experience. 3–5 years experience in the Workday Ecosystem. Experience leading teams of Integration Developers.
