Process and Quality Specialist

Toromont Remanufacturing is looking for a Process & Quality Specialist to join our team in Bradford, ON This role will ensure that all REMAN product is reliable, consistently built to the highest quality standards, and meets our customer’s life-cycle expectations. Job Type Full-time, Permanent Compensation $66,822 to $83,527 Key Accountabilities Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behavior’s at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and initiatives. Maintain, Own & Improve Procedures & Compliance, ensure tooling calibration program is adhered to (Managing process documentation, measuring KPIs…) Create and maintain process maps, procedures, technical specifications. Schedule shop maintenance - provide guidance to shop employees and coordinate outside contractors. Ensure shop equipment is maintained & determine whether replacement vs. repair is necessary. Warranty claim investigation – Working with branches & customers to investigate warranty claims, ensuring failed parts and information are received, an Applied Failure Analysis is performed and preventative actions implemented. Create Quality Bulletins and provide in person feedback to employees on quality issues. Continuous Improvement projects – Continually improve quality, process and facilities using various CI projects; Research & select specialty tooling for various applications to improve safety, accuracy and turn-around time. Contamination Control – Ensure facility waste is in compliance with local requirements, perform monthly Contamination Control audits. Metric & Data Analysis – Collect data for quality and process metrics, analyze warranty and REDO data to identify opportunities to change process, parts reuse, or tooling. Key Qualifications Technical background, College or University education in a mechanical/automotive field. Knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, engine, and various other heavy equipment or automotive systems. Technical experience with Caterpillar equipment and systems such as SIS considered an asset. Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis. Experience maintaining large pieces of shop equipment. Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset. Non-Destructive Testing certification an asset, Magnetic Particle Level II. Highly customer centric and a strong team player with a sense of urgency and a continuous improvement mindset. Safety conscious, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Attention to detail, efficient time-management and effective planning skills with the ability to quickly adapt to multiple and often changing schedules and priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Self-directed with high integrity and initiative to be proactive in problem solving. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
