Base pay range $60.00/hr - $80.00/hr We are seeking an experienced Azure cloud professional to lead strategic planning and governance for our cloud presence. This role emphasizes collaboration with IT Security Architecture and Operations teams to design a secure, compliant, and scalable Azure environment. The focus is on architecture, policy development, and security alignment, rather than day-to-day configuration or operational tasks. Key Responsibilities Develop Azure cloud architecture strategies aligned with business and security objectives Collaborate with security engineers to integrate Zero Trust principles, compliance frameworks, and IAM best practices Define governance models, identity lifecycle policies, and access control standards Provide guidance on secure deployment patterns, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) Advise on cost optimization, scalability, and resilience planning Create and maintain documentation for cloud security policies, IAM workflows, and governance standards Support strategic vendor evaluations and integration planning for IAM and cloud security solutions Qualifications 5+ years in Azure architecture, IAM strategy, or cloud security planning Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, RBAC, and Privileged Identity Management concepts Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) and Zero Trust architecture Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to translate technical security requirements into actionable governance policies Preferred Certifications Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate Azure Security Engineer Associate CISSP or equivalent cloud security certification Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Contract Job function Information Technology Industries IT Services and IT Consulting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Alquemy Search & Consulting by 2x Get notified about new Cloud Consultant jobs in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
