The opportunity As an Associate, you will have a key role in analyzing potential Infrastructure & Natural Resources “INR” equity investment opportunities, executing transactions, and working with existing portfolio companies to craft strategy and implement value‑enhancing initiatives. We’re looking for an excellent teammate, highly motivated, who is willing to travel internationally and handle multiple projects in a transaction‑based environment. Who you'll work with You’ll join our Toronto office, working in a dynamic, team‑based environment, directly supporting senior team members across all sectors and geographic regions. INR consists of over 60 highly‑specialized private equity investment professionals, with offices in Toronto, London, Singapore, and Santiago, Chile. Currently, INR leads a geographically diverse portfolio of approximately C$28 billion with assets across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, targeting growth to over $40 billion over the next five years. What you’ll do Lead all aspects of the construction and implementation of financial modeling tools to analyze investment opportunities, in conjunction with our Analysts; Assist in the due diligence process and incorporate the findings into a financial model; Deliver high‑quality analysis that identifies key value drivers and financial risks through sensitivity and scenario analysis; Coordinate and work closely with external advisors, consultants, and partners and submit bids adhering to timelines; Prepare presentations, reports, and investment recommendations to senior management and, where applicable, the Board of OTPP; Review and analyze financial reports, budgets, board books, and other information prepared by management of our portfolio companies; Work with portfolio company management to maintain financial models that analyze strategic issues and value the company; Support internal strategic projects; Support the preparation of internal annual valuations. What you’ll need Fluency in Portuguese would be an asset; Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in investment banking, principal investing or corporate development within an operating business; Bachelor’s degree required; pursuit of a CFA designation considered a plus; Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others and present to senior audiences; Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to perform in‑depth analysis; Ability to balance multiple priorities while remaining detail oriented; A proactive attitude and drive toward action and results; Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; Desire and willingness to travel internationally.
