At LMI our staff work passionately toward the common goal of designing and delivering innovative 3D machine vision solutions to OEMs and System Integrators working in industrial factory automation around the world.What will you do as a Software Developer?LMI is seeking a software developer with 4+ years of proven developer experience who has the desire and skill set to design machine vision sensors. You will work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-platform, engineering team (software, electrical, mechanical/optical) that develops new sensor products and supporting infrastructure (manufacturing and test equipment).The Sensor Software Developer will work in the R&D team and report to the Software Developer Manager.Design and develop 3D acquisition algorithms for our sensors to produce 3D data from images.Develop components of the sensor calibration pipeline.Characterize and validate prototype sensor performance and integrate final designs with customers.Design and develop manufacturing software tools required to build the sensors and control key component performance (e.g. software tasks for focusing and aligning cameras/lasers/projectors, quantifying and adjusting sensor sensitivity, etc.).Demonstrate ownership and leadership - use your experience and skill to help others in the team to grow, and help drive projects to completion.Potential in becoming a scrum master overseeing an Agile team within the Sensor Software group.Proactively contribute to and implement continuous improvement initiatives.What do you need to be successful?Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.4+ years work experience in a disciplined software development environment producing deliverable code.Solid knowledge of C/C++ and C# programming using Microsoft Visual Studio.Experience with 3D metrology or computer vision (object detection, image restoration, scene reconstruction, etc., but excluding machine learning) is required.Excellent understanding of object-oriented programming.Excellent understanding of commonly used data structures and algorithms (lists, trees, sorting, binning, etc.).Excellent understanding of math and statistics.Solid understanding of memory management, threading/synchronization, networking.Proficient with commonly used scripting languages.Previous leadership experience (as part of a project or team) is an asset.Experience developing for a manufacturing automation environment is an asset.How to submit your interest?If you are interested in this exciting opportunity and working for a fast-growing global technology company with an inspiring and engaging workplace environment, please submit your application to our Human Resources team in confidence by clicking the “Apply Now” button.Why being inclusive is important to us?At LMI Technologies, we are an Equal Opportunity employer and we value the diversity of the people we hire and serve.
