Walking with Our Relatives – Systems Navigator Full Time: 40 hours per weekHourly range: $28.00 We are Community Leaders: Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based, Indigenous-led human services organization that provides a range of Indigenous-identified programs and services that focus on the wholeness, wellness, and building on the strengths and resilience of Indigenous People. About the Role: Walking with our Relatives is an Indigenous-led program within Mino Pimatisiwin Sexual Wellness Lodge. The program supports relatives’ access to care relating to sexual assault and/or intimate partner violence (SA/IPV). We are looking for a warm, kind Auntie to be our Systems Navigator, contributing to an interdisciplinary team which supports relatives accessing care or resources. You will work one-on-one with relatives and engage in outreach to build community understanding of the team’s work and how to access this support. Hosting relatives (community members), offering resources, and facilitating access to those resources, including travelling to the lodge with relatives, sitting with relatives while they access nursing, counselling, Kookums or any other care. Building connections with relatives that foster ongoing consent, autonomy, and informed choices Working from a culturally grounded, consent-based, and trauma-informed place to support relatives coming into Ka Ni Kanichihk who have experienced SA/IPV Being present and understanding for folx and walking alongside them Providing your expertise in navigating community resources and supports Connecting relatives to Clinical Social Workers at MPSWL for counselling and system navigation Supporting relatives navigating the justice system, including protection orders, third-party reporting, and attending court Supporting relatives navigating the healthcare system, including accessing hospital-based sexual assault nurse examiners Ensuring confidentiality and PHIA standards are met Participating in pipe ceremonies, sharing circles, and other ceremonies held onsite What You Bring: Relevant post‑secondary education in Social Services, Community Health, or a combination of education and two (2+) years of relevant work experience, especially outreach work experience Knowledge of traditional Indigenous culture, spirituality and traditions are required Demonstrated understanding of sex positivity, harm reduction, decolonization, trauma‑informed practices and healing‑centered care Has experience in creating inclusive, anti‑racist and equitable environments for relatives accessing care Able to navigate and utilize community and clinical resources Comfortable transporting relatives from different locations within Winnipeg Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Detail‑oriented and organized in file management and database entry A valid Manitoba driver’s license, clear driver’s abstract, and access to a vehicle is required Clear Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check You are able to work flexible hours as required, such as evenings and weekends What We Offer: Comprehensive and Immediate Benefits including Health and Dental Long‑Term Disability & Life Insurance Employer Contributed RRSP; up to 5% match Employee and Family Assistance Program with Consult + and Telus Health Cultural Ways of Being; Knowledge Keepers and Kookums, medicine picking, sweats, ceremony, smudging on-site Wellness Days, in addition to Vacation Days Work‑life balance and casual dress Training and Development opportunitiesFree on‑site parking Employee appreciation and wellness events To Apply: Candidates must be able to provide a recent (within six months) Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector, and Child Abuse Registry Check prior to starting in the position.
