Automotive Tire Technician (Grande Prairie, Whispering Ridge) 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Fountain Tire Grande Prairie (10205 156 Ave) is looking for a responsible, safe, and dedicated associate to join our team as an Automotive Tire Technician What is in it for you Competitive wages starting at $23.05 per hour Health, dental, vision benefits plus a RRSP program with company matching Permanent, full‑time position Development of skills and certifications through training Regular full‑time day shifts with overtime opportunities Staff discounts on tires, parts and mechanical services at all Fountain Tire locations What each day will bring Install, balance, and rotate passenger, light truck, and medium truck tires and wheels in a safe and efficient manner; ensure all tires and wheels are inspected for correct inflation, wear patterns, tread depth as per inspection form and documented accordingly, that required torque specifications are met, and that new tires are cleaned and stickers are removed Repair damaged tires and wheels as per inspection form and documented accordingly Complete assigned eLearning courses (TIA103, 203, TIA603 TPMS, WHMIS, Customer Experience Standards, etc.) with a passing grade, including recertification when required Reset and repair tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) Maintain tire service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis, including tire balancing equipment, tire changing equipment, compressors/air equipment, and hydraulic equipment, while adhering to safe operation procedures Complete specialty tire work such as studding, nitrogen, etc. Assist in maintenance tasks on vehicles, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, exhaust system repairs, tire servicing, fluid replacements, and supporting mechanics as required Return all equipment, tools and supplies in good working condition to the proper location; report concerns or damaged items to the supervisor for repair or replacement Operate company and customer vehicles safely; maintain vehicle cleanliness; secure equipment and loads properly Use all safety equipment as required by Corporate or Store requirements Support customer relationships by responding to inquiries Assist in inventory management through documentation and annual inventory counts Participate in all safety initiatives to guarantee safety at Fountain Tire What kind of person are we looking for Working knowledge of passenger, light truck, and medium truck tires, specialty tire services, and wheels with a keen attention to detail Customer service focus with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and customers; strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal English communication skills Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; organized, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills Initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency Basic computer skills to complete required learning and safety courses Ability to consistently lift 25 kg Education & Experience One year of tire‑related experience High school diploma or GED is an asset At Fountain Tire, you’d have a great place to work Market‑leading wages, a manager with a large support network, and the chance to learn and grow.
