Our Dartmouth office seeks a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to add to the strength of this high‑performing group.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as project manager, structural lead, and designer for engineering assignmentsAttend site visits related to pre‑design information gathering, construction, and post‑construction reviewCoordinate work with clients and other disciplines including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planningAnalyze and evaluate appropriate design solutions and design of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundationsProvide direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructionsDirect CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables prior to submission to the clientConduct business development activities to secure new projects by client liaison and proposal preparationPrepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimateProvide tender evaluations and/or construction engineering servicesWork within assigned project budgets and schedulesBusiness development and proposal preparationSupervise and mentor staff on project workCapabilities and CredentialsInterest in working both in the office and the field environmentExperience in project managementAbility to perform outdoor physical duties while doing bridge inspection workValid driver's license and access to a vehicleStrong computer skills, including experience with SAP2000, CSiBridge, SFRAMEExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsAble to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi‑disciplined projectsProven ability to supervise, direct, and mentor staffDemonstrated interest in business development activities and preparation of proposalsOrganized and detail‑orientedAbility to direct a team and mentor the technical development of othersWorks well with minimal direct supervisionEducation and ExperienceB.ASc. or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering, with strong interest and experience in bridge engineeringP.Eng. and 10+ years’ experience in leading large transportation structures projectsTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
