The role has MRB duties and provides engineering support to all organizations involved in design, development, publication, assembly, test, installation, delivery, and repair of products. The incumbent must find solutions to problems reported to them, raise necessary documentation, and authorize dispositions concerning engineering specifications, concepts and design integrity. Work involves collaboration with design, stress, materials technology and other specialists. ResponsibilitiesDesign and analyze the disposition of repairs for structural non-conformances to restore design integrity.Rapidly design repairs based on equivalent strength/stiffness of surrounding structure within schedule constraints.Adhere to MRB and QA procedures.Interact with inspectors, shop mechanics, other engineering disciplines and management as required.Maintain knowledge of developments in aircraft structures to recommend innovations for quality, economy, and effectiveness.Investigate, analyze, and determine solutions for manufacturing and engineering problems affecting assembly or function, using aeronautical design principles.Provide written instructions to restore non-conforming parts and assemblies to design integrity as required by MRB policies.Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, policies, and philosophies.Obtain engineering expert assent on fixes affecting original engineering requirements.Advise manufacturing and related departments on methods, processes, costs and schedules improvements.Coordinate with internal departments to foster teamwork across operations and engineering.Investigate and provide solutions for corrective action requests involving engineering.Pursue ongoing personal development to stay current with liaison activities.Inform the Supervisor of manufacturing changes, problems, or significant matters to the group.Advise on manufacturing problems affecting delivered aircraft and on safety issues.Inform design engineering of features affecting safety or assembly feasibility.Perform other duties as assigned. ExperienceMinimum 5 years MRB experience in Liaison Engineering, preferably on Bombardier programs.Competence in basic stress analysis.Design experience in aerospace is an asset.Excellent knowledge of aircraft structures and systems installation requirements.Thorough knowledge of aircraft materials, hardware, company practices, standards, and aeronautical engineering specifications.Competence in Catia V4, V5 and/or AutoCAD to perform day-to-day tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently in a high-pressure team environment.
