Job Title: Specialized IT Consultant – SeniorWork ArrangementOnsite – 5 days/weekOffice-based assignmentRole SummaryThe Specialized IT Consultant – Senior provides strategic and hands-on expertise in enterprise data integration, ETL, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions. The role supports large-scale modernization initiatives, production sustainment, release activities, and infrastructure upgrades, while ensuring structured knowledge transfer to internal teams.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on Information Management and IT solutions to meet business objectivesImprove efficiency and structure of enterprise I&IT systems using Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica, and SSISProvide strategic guidance on IM, data platforms, and task-based IT technologiesAct as subject matter expert during procurement and delivery phasesSupport release management, infrastructure sustainment, urgent priorities, and upgradesDesign, develop, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutionsEnhance ETL and SQL performance across large data environmentsDesign data warehouse components, ETL scripts, and hierarchical data modelsDevelop reports, dashboards, and BI solutions using Cognos and Power BILead cloud-based data solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Fabric Data FactorySupport production operations, incident resolution, defect management, and unplanned deploymentsDocument system designs, ETL processes, and BI specificationsEnsure compliance with Ontario Digital Platform (ODP) standards and data governance practicesPerform knowledge transfer to designated internal resources prior to contract completionKnowledge Transfer RequirementsAll deliverables, drafts, and final documentation must be stored in designated repositoriesProject managers and designated staff must be informed in writing of documentation locationsMinimum one walkthrough session of all documentation is requiredKnowledge transfer conducted via one-on-one sessions, documentation reviews, and written communicationKnowledge transfer must be completed one week prior to contract end or consultant exitRequired Skills & ExperienceTechnical Skills (45%)5+ years senior-level experience with Oracle Data Integrator and/or InformaticaStrong experience with SSIS in data warehousing and large-scale data migrationAdvanced SQL skills across Oracle (10.x+), DB2, SQL Server, PL/SQLExperience optimizing ETL pipelines and SQL queriesExperience designing data warehouse components and ETL scriptsHands-on experience with PowerDesigner for data modeling and DDL generationExperience debugging ETL mappings, transformations, and unit testing componentsExperience with Unix and Korn-shell scriptingExperience using Cognos (v10+) and Microsoft Power BI for BI solutionsHands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta LakeExperience integrating Databricks with Azure Fabric Data Factory and Power BIFamiliarity with Ontario Digital Platform (ODP) standards and complianceExperience designing cloud-based data solutions for modernization initiativesCore Skills (35%)Strong experience in data warehouse design and optimizationExperience documenting application designs, ETL processes, and BI specificationsKnowledge of aggregate reporting and enterprise ETL workflowsExperience troubleshooting production issues and managing fixesExperience with defect and issue management tools (HP ALM, HP Service Manager)Experience modernizing large, multi-platform, multi-tier IT systemsExperience working across Agile and Waterfall methodologiesCommunication & Analytical Skills (15%)Strong collaboration with business and IT stakeholdersAbility to translate business requirements into technical designsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess priorities and design alternativesPublic Sector Experience (5%)Previous experience working in a large public-sector organizationMust Have5+ years senior-level experience in ETL design, development, optimization, and data migrationStrong expertise in data warehousing, data modeling, mapping, and performance tuningAdvanced SQL across Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, and PL/SQLHands-on experience debugging ETL pipelines and performing unit, system, and UAT testingExperience with PowerDesigner and hierarchical data modelsDelivery of enterprise BI solutions using Cognos and Power BIHands-on Databricks experience (Spark, Delta Lake, Fabric Data Factory integration)Experience designing cloud-based data solutions for modernization initiativesProduction support and defect management experience (HP ALM / HP Service Manager)Strong collaboration skills in large public-sector environments with ODP familiarity #J-18808-Ljbffr
