Position Information Posting Number: CK53853P Position Title: Mechanic No. of Staff Required: 1 Position Type: Full Time Position Groups: CUPE Civic Division: Infrastructure (DV220) Department: Infrastructure Operations (DP168) Department Name: Fleet Services Branch: Fleet Services (BR191) Responsibilities Performs troubleshooting, electronic diagnostics, repairs and servicing on power trains, electrical, charging, hydraulic and fuel systems on a variety of vehicles, equipment and machinery; periodically performs welding and fabrication duties. The work is completed in both shop and field locations. Operates all tools and equipment of the trade, including standard office equipment. Maintains all tools and equipment clean and in a safe working condition; keeps the work area clean and free of hazards to ensure a safe workplace. Inspects and adjusts air brake systems to ensure compliance with the National Safety Code, Ministry of Transportation and B.C. Motor Vehicle Act. Completes work orders and various other written records related to work activities. Participates in courses that are required to learn new and continuously changing trades technologies.
