Job Title: Lab Patient Technician Status: Part Time (0-2 hours per week) Schedule: Shifts between Monday to Friday (7:45 am – 4:45 pm) Additional requirements: May be called in to cover last‑minute absences Number of positions: 1 Start Date: ASAP This vacancy is for an existing position. Your Responsibilities Will Include Greet patients, request required information, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients have followed test protocol prior to collection. Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings. Conduct special test collections (medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, clinical trials) and complete related documentation. Maintain client relationships, responding to inquiries and following up on requests. Complete data entry of required patient demographics, requisition information, and other data related to test processing. Prepare specimens for transportation and testing. What You Will Bring To The Role Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent (preferred). Phlebotomy experience is an asset. ECG training or experience is an asset. Excellent communication skills. Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Strong customer/patient service ability, even in stressful situations. Strong empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
