Who are we looking for We’re looking for a Project Director, Contamination Assessment and Remediation based in our office in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will be someone who can make decisions, be proactive in prevention control, and remediate environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines such as waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology. Strong client relationship building and a drive to help sustain revenue growth in the region are essential. See what the power of commitment can do for you Working with an energetic and high‑performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Needs Assessment: Working with business group leaders to uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, key stakeholders, and related issues. Improvement / Innovation: Identifying shortcomings in existing business practices and suggesting and implementing improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization’s change management program. Culture of Innovation: Driving a culture of innovation by creating multistakeholder solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration across business units. Contaminated Sites Investigation and Remediation Design: Designing (or enabling others while being accountable for) engineering and scientific solutions to bring sites through to closure via investigation, remediation, and/or risk assessment that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards. Knowledge Management: Developing policies and processes, creating best practices, setting up case studies, and delivering internal knowledge‑sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices. Health, Safety, Quality and Environment: Monitoring and reviewing performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility, taking action to improve performance and resolve non‑compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions. Technical Developments Recommendation: Completing and contributing to Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, implementing remediation techniques, and developing management strategies; recommending more complex or innovative technical developments to improve infrastructure quality. Professional Supervision: Leading and overseeing the provision of professional supervision to ensure effective support for practitioners’ professional development and embedding reflective practice. Implementing and supervising resourcing systems and processes to ensure timely delivery of services meeting client requirements and budgets with strong technical authority. Project Management: Managing a portfolio of projects while reporting to the Business Group Leader, including federally regulated and provincially regulated projects for several clients; experience working with Defence Construction Canada is an asset. Client & Customer Management (External): Managing important client relationships, including federal clients and engaging with industry networks; working with the BGL to ensure the team delivers an enhanced client experience. What you will bring to the team Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in environmental science. Registered with a professional designation in BC (e.g., P.Eng., C.Eng., or equivalent). 10–20 years of experience with contaminated assessments and remediation. Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and regulatory requirements surrounding contaminated sites. Self‑motivated with strong time‑management and organizational ability. Strong communication and writing skills. Valid driver’s license. Salary range: $102,000 – $167,000 based on experience.
