Work setting:

  1. Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  2. Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  3. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  4. Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  5. Advise on tendering procedures
  6. Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  7. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  8. Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  9. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  10. Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
