Turnaround Coordinator

Job Title: Turnaround Field Coordinator
Location: Sarnia, ON (local or willing to relocate to the area for duration of contract required – no LOA provided)
Schedule: tbc
Contract Length: August 18 – November 18
Description:
The Turnaround Field Coordinator reports to the Turnaround Coordinator and is expected to understand the scope of the turnaround work list, facilitate the effective completion of all pre, planned, added and post work . The Field Coordinator spends 85-90% of their time in the field and is the first line of contact with the various contractors. The T/A Field Coordinator will take immediate action to eliminate barriers to the Safety, T/A schedule and progress. This role includes ensuring Lean and productive execution of field work.
Health Safety and Sustainable Development Roles and Responsibilities:

• Be a HSSE leader in the field by setting an example, following the Life Saving Rules, and intervening when issues observed Responsible for safety performance of all contractors assigned to their area.
• Ensures compliance to policies and procedures
• Understand all Safety and Environmental issues associated within the turnaround in general and with the individual tasks in the assigned area. Understand J.S.A.s for assigned area.
• Participate in pre-shutdown Safety and Environment review (Safety Kick-Off meeting)
• Monitor assigned tasks to ensure all Safety and Environmental responsibilities are being met
• will require climbing of stairs and ladders
• Participate in the review of Incident reports and take actions where indicated or required
• Take a leadership role to ensure good housekeeping
• Support T/A contractor in their drive to enhance Safety by their own staff
• Complete the appropriate Safety Modules prior to commencement of T/A assignment
• Some permit issuing may be required ie. shop or wash pad Turnaround Roles and Responsibilities PRE
• Review scope of work with Operations, Engineering, Inspection and Maintenance Turnaround Coordinators as required to have a good understanding of the work before T/A begins.
• Meet and review work lists and schedules with Contractors Foreman.
• Understand and execute Contract Strategy including materials and supplies management plan

Expectations:

• Should be spending 85% - 90% of time in the field working with contractor to drive work
• Understand daily tasks scheduled for that shift and ensure work is proceeding per plan and schedule
• Review and confirm schedule update accuracy with the foreman on a daily basis.
• Assess and eliminate barriers that may affect the cost or duration of the turnaround and to ensure they are dealt with immediately
• Work hand in hand with contractor to ensure Lean and productive execution of field work
• Monitor contractor activity and manpower continually to eliminate barriers to meeting T/A goals
• Organize discussions/meetings as required to eliminate barriers and ensure safe progression of the work
• Monitor all aspects of quality for his / her area of responsibility
• material, flange tightness, completion status
• Daily review & confirm schedule update accuracy with the foreman.
• Attend all meetings as directed
• Carry out an effective turn over to the relieving coordinator (if 2 shifts)
• Maintain documentation (log) daily on the shifts activities ie. weather, deviations to schedules, hold ups etc. for critical path or key work items
• Immediately report any barriers to T/A Unit Coordinator that cannot be addressed in the field
• Ensures execution of environmental plan (waste disposal, lead/asbestos abatement, frac tanks, vac trucks, etc)
• Participate in walk downs and signoffs with Ops on completion as per T/A Unit Coordinator
• First point of contact for project issues coming from field for assigned area

Qualifications:

• Journeyman trades certificate or other relevant education OR significant experience in similar role required
• Must be legally able to work in Canada prior to time of hire
• Proven experience in Turnaround activities from a Field perspective.
