Join to apply for the Maintenance Engineer role at Shared Health-Soins Communs.Requisition ID: 394809Position Number: 20068438Posting End Date: Open until filledCity: WinnipegEmployer: St. Boniface HospitalSite: St. Boniface HospitalDepartment / Unit: Energy CentreJob Stream: Non-ClinicalUnion: CUPEAnticipated Start Date: 01/19/2026FTE: 1.00Anticipated Shift: DaysWork Arrangement: In PersonDaily Hours Worked: 8.00Annual Base Hours: 2080Salary: $40.958 , $43.090Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Manager, Energy Centre, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for: performing preventive and corrective maintenance as per work orders to Hospital equipment and systems; performing the operation and maintenance of building essential services, equipment and systems both mechanical and electrical as applicable; functioning as an assistant to the Shift Engineer in the Energy Centre and participating in the operation of high voltage electric and gas/oil fired boilers, centrifugal refrigeration compressors and related equipment in accordance with the regulations of the Power Engineers' Act; operating the building HVAC automation systems; and performing other related duties as assigned.ExperienceThree (3) years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and other related equipment and systems.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)Grade XII or equivalent.The minimum of a valid and subsisting certificate of proficiency as a Third-Class Power Engineer, in accordance with the regulations of the Power Engineers' Act of Manitoba (Department of Labour) or equivalent.Certification / Licensure / RegistrationNot ApplicableQualifications and SkillsGeneral knowledge of HVAC principles.Ability to understand and follow manuals, schematic diagrams, etc.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and take initiative.Willingness to adhere to safety principles.Physical RequirementsPhysically able to carry and transport tools and equipment on ladders and platforms up to 34 kgs; ability to handle heavier loads with the assistance of wheeled carts and other devices.Manual dexterity.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementSt. Boniface Hospital is committed to empowering a workforce that welcomes and celebrates diversity by fostering culturally safe places for all employees.
