Position Summary The Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team in Fraser Lake. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, with a focus on longitudinal care and supporting urgent/emergency care as a member of the team. The NP will work closely with family physicians, patient care assistants, and an integrated professional team to deliver high-quality, culturally safe care. Responsibilities Provide longitudinal primary care to a diverse patient population. Collaborate with family physicians and other health professionals in a collegial and supportive environment. Participate in rotational outreach travel (1-2 days/month) to the local communities. Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for documentation and care coordination. Attach patients per the Provincial Attachment System (PAS) guidelines Qualifications & Skills Eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner. Demonstrated experience in primary care and opioid agonist therapy. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care. About the Community The community of Fraser Lake is surrounded by lakes and rivers which stem from the top of Mouse Mountain, one of the village's most prominent landmarks. Known for fishing and outdoor activities, Fraser Lake is also known as the White Swan Capital of the world for the hundreds of migratory trumpeter swans that settle there each winter. The lake covers 54 square kilometers and is a hub for outdoor recreation, including fishing, boating, and hiking. Only 160km west of the larger community of Prince George. About the Health Centre Fraser Lake Community Health Centre is a full-scope Family Medicine Clinic; with outreach to clinics in surrounding area. 4 Outpatient Bays Emergency stabilization and transfer (to Vanderhoof or Prince George) Lab and Medical Imaging - ECHO coming soon Diagnostic and treatment centre, closed on weekends, statutory holidays No after hour call required Very supportive environment, love to welcome new grads starting out in their careers Incentives & Support Competitive compensation and benefits. Financial Support for Moving Expenses is available for eligible positions Four weeks of vacation with one year of continuous service Qualifications Education and Experience Completion of BCCNM approved Master\'s degree level nurse practitioner program. Eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care and prognosis. Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer patients/clients/residents to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate. Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices; ability to introduce education and evidence-based research. Ability to assess and recognize population health trends; ability to plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion. Ability to implement and evaluate planned change. Ability to supervise others and evaluate the care they deliver. Ability to lead a team and work within a team. Ability to self-direct, interact, and adapt effectively with other professionals in complex, dynamic situations. Ability to transfer knowledge, teach, coach and mentor others. Ability to identify and respond appropriately to legal and ethical issues that may arise in patient/resident/client care.
