Job Title R&D Actuary, Europe Role Overview We are looking for a nearly qualified or fully qualified actuary to join our R&D team in Toronto, ON or London, UK focusing on basis development. This role is crucial for providing assumptions that support Pacific Life Re’s ambitious growth plans in new and existing markets across Europe and North America. Role Responsibilities Carry out assumption development work for longevity and protection lines of business. Support new business activity for longevity and protection. Expand knowledge of actuarial and statistical methods for best‑estimate assumption setting and data analysis. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing to maintain high technical expertise in mortality, morbidity, and longevity risk. Skills & Experience Nearly qualified or fully qualified Fellow of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent). Understanding of Longevity or Protection reinsurance markets. Experience with experience studies, trend modelling, and pricing in the life insurance industry. Interest in programming and familiarity with Tableau, SQL, and R. Knowledge of actuarial techniques such as Generalized Linear Models and Survival Models. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
